St. Augustine, Florida

The first winter destination that comes to mind for most people is Florida. As one of the most popular snowbird destinations, Florida has something for everyone with sunny beaches and warm temperatures. Founded in 1565, St. Augustine is the nation’s oldest city. With the beautiful 17th-century Spanish colonial architecture you can spend the day exploring the old charm of this city. Nearby Anastasia State Park offers 139 campsites in the beautiful maritime hammock and is just a short walk to the beach.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

If you are traveling from the northeast Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is a great option that isn’t too far away. Mild weather and sandy beaches make this a great winter getaway. Myrtle Beach is also a great golf destination and has been called the “Golf Capital of the World” because of the roughly 100 golf courses in the area. If you want to spend time in the sand, Myrtle Beach is at the center of a continuous 60-mile stretch of beach known as “The Grand Strand”. There are also plenty of campgrounds in the area that are a short distance from the ocean.

Galveston, Texas

Texas isn’t the first place that comes to mind when considering a winter destination, but that is what makes it so great. There is something for everyone in Galveston, explore the miles of beautiful beaches or visit the numerous restaurants, cafés, and antique stores in the historic downtown. Average temperatures in Galveston hover around 60 degrees duing the winter months making for comfortable camping weather.

Napa, California

Wine lovers will rejoice exploring the vineyards of California’s Napa Valley. Napa County is north of San Francisco, California and is home to hundreds of hillside vineyards and top-rated restaurants. When your not visiting the vinyards, the region also offers hiking, golfing, bike and kayak rentals and even hot-air balloon rides. There are many RV parks in Napa Valley, ranging from state parks to RV resorts.

Tucson, Arizona

Tucson, Arizona is the state’s second-largest city, and it is surrounded by beautiful desert landscapes. With 350 days of sunshine a year, Tucson is a great destination for any outdoor enthusiast. Explore miles of hiking and biking trails in Catalina State Park located at the base of the majestic Santa Catalina Mountains. After a day full of adventure take a short drive into downtown to experience the many restaurants and nightlife Tucson has to offer.
