What is a Snowbird? A snowbird refers to people, who like birds, migrate south to warmer weather during the winter months. The beauty of owning an RV is the ability to easily move your home on wheels to a place with warmer weather. Below are just a few great destinations to escape the cold this winter.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Florida

Florida is one of the most popular snowbird destinations, especially with an average of 237 days of sunshine a year. If you are traveling with children or just want to experience the magic of Disney, look no further than Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. This RV resort is located on 750 acres just outside the park entrance and is the perfect retreat after a day of adventure.

Each campsite is equipped with privacy landscaping, cable, water, and electrical hook-ups, as well as a picnic table and a charcoal grill. Most campsites also include a sewer hook-up. The resort also has Archery, horseback riding, canoeing, and much more.

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Crooked River State Park, Georgia

Located just a few miles from I-95 on in southern Georgia’s coast is Crooked River State Park. This park is the perfect spot for enjoying the Intracoastal Waterway and maritime forest. A nature trail winds through forest and salt marsh, giving hikers a look at gopher tortoises, fiddler crabs, herons, and other wildlife native to coastal Georgia.

Campsites at Crooked River are surrounded by palmettos and Spanish moss-draped oak trees, and each campsite features electric and water hook-ups. Other amenities include WiFi, bathrooms, showers, laundry, and a dump station.

Gulf Shores, Alabama

Alabama may not be the first state that comes to mind as a winter destination, but with 32 miles of white sandy beaches, the Gulf Shores is a hidden gem. Whether you’re in the mood for fun and adventure or relaxing days on the beach, Gulf Shores has something for everyone.
