In this new video, Patrick reviews the new mattresses used in all the new 2017 Airstream travel trailers. These new mattresses include a number of new improvements. The new mattress has a thickness of 8″ inches. The gusset foam core pillow top mattress also includes 2″ of memory foam on one side.
The mattress is comprised of the following:
- 5% Barrier Fiber
- 25% Visco-elastic foam–Known as memory foam.
- 70% Polyurethane foam.
All 3 layers are individually sewn and attached separately. This keeps the mattress from “rolling” thus loosing shape and performance. Barrier fiber provides protection from heat and fire. Visco ElasticFoam -G Flex and Adaptflex is a material developed for bodily support during sleep. Its effectiveness is due to its unique ability to reduce pressure, provide comfortable support, and ease pain caused by prolonged stiffness. Also known as NASA memory foam, Visco- Elastic foam was first invented for space programs in the 1970s, in order to reduce pressure points experienced by astronauts. With a G Flex 100% gel infused foam that helps maintain body temperature for a deeper sleep.
Memory foam designed to absorb and distribute pressure points.
