Choosing a Campground

Choosing an RV campground can be overwhelming with so many options out there. Things such as your RV’s length, how long you stay, amenities, and cost all need to be considered before booking your stay. Below are few tips and things to look for when deciding your next campground.

Location

One of the first things to consider is the location of the campground you will be staying at. Do you perfer Campgrounds with a Waterfront View? or do you want to be near local area attractions? If you have a larger Class A motorhome, you will need to keep in mind any low clearance trees or bridges near the campground or if they can accommodate an RV of that size. State parks are also a great option if you want to be more secluded.

Campground Amenities

When choosing an RV park, one thing to consider is what type of amenities are available. Check for campgrounds that have level parking, electric hookups, sewer, and can fit your rig. Finding a campground with free Wi-Fi is a great resource to help you keep in touch with friends and family back home. Many campgrounds also offer amenities such as pools, hiking trails, fishing, and playgrounds. This can be great if you are traveling with kids or plan on staying for a while. Most campgrounds list the amenities available on their website.

Cost

The cost of the campground can vary depending on location and amenities offered. Most RV campgrounds range from $50 to $75 a night, this typically includes electric and water hookups. If you plan on staying more than a few nights many RV parks will offer a discount. State Parks can be a great alternative if you are on a tight budget, but they will have fewer amenities compared to a typical RV park.

Make a reservation

Making a reservation ahead of time can take some of the stress out of finding a campground after a long day of traveling. Some of the more popular RV parks require a reservation a few weeks in advance.
