Over the last few years, the vanlife culture has become increasingly popular. Owning a Class B motorhome gives you the freedom to travel and stay in places most other RVs can’t. Whether you’re already a “vanlifer” or are considering joining the movement, we’ve found some of the top apps to help make the journey easier and more enjoyable.
GasBuddy
Fuel can get expensive over a long trip and saving on gas prices can add up over time. The GasBudy app gives you the current prices of gas or diesel in your area. The easy to use app shows prices in a map or list view and can be sorted by fuel grade. Fuel prices are updated daily by real users and by creating an account you also have the ability to update prices to help others.
Harvest Host
Harvest Host is a membership network that invites self-contained RVers to stay overnight for free at over 1,200 wineries, breweries, farms, and more. While the spots are free, they do ask to support the Host by purchasing some of their local products with each stay. The $79 yearly membership gives members unlimited access to stay overnight at any one of the Host‘s locations.
Instagram
One of the best ways to connect with other vanlifers, get inspiration, or find new destinations is through Instagram. This photo-sharing app is a great way for friends and family to follow along with your journey or to meet other fellow Vanlife enthusiasts. AllTrails
One of the best things about vanlife is the ability to spend time enjoying the great outdoors. The AllTrails app provides a directory of over 100,000 trails to help you find the perfect hike, bike ride, or trail run. The app allows you to filter trails by length, rating, and difficulty level. There is also an option to find dog or kid-friendly trails.
AllStays
AllStays is a great app that allows you to find campgrounds, RV parks, and other RV related services. The app includes over 30,000 campgrounds, National & State Forests, truckstops, and more. When you are living the vanlife you will eventually need to find water, propane, and dump stations along your journey. AllStays allows you to easily sort and filter results to find what you need on the go.
